Who can become a member of the organization ?

If you are a student in grades K-12 looking to learn or play this 64-squared game, reach out to us!  Children of all ages and skill levels are welcome. 

How does the program run?

Chess Scientist is a completely virtual program setup through the online chess software Lichess. Join us every Wednesday 7-8pm and Sunday 12-2pm!

How to sign-up on Lichess?

  Go to www.lichess.org

Send a request to join the Chess Scientist Program (Watch this video!) 


Include the following on your application: 

  • Player's full name 
  • Player’s age 
  • Player's lichess.com user name 
  • Name of the Institution 


Once this information has been provided, your request will be approved. 

Will there be chess tournaments?

  Tournaments will be conducted year-round for kids to exercise their skills, reinforce their learning, and celebrate their successes.
